Manufacturer "Roland"
Hardly any synthesizer manufacturer can position itself as firmly on the market as Roland. The company was founded by Ikutaro Kakehashi in Osaka in 1972. Today there are several factories in Japan, USA and Taiwan that manufacture various musical instruments and music equipment such as synthesizers, workstations, e-drums, digital pianos, guitar effects, recording and broadcasts.
Famous Roland synthesizers of the 70's and 80's
Roland sets milestones in the development and construction of synthesizers with instruments such as the Jupiter-4, SH-06, Jupiter-8, Juno-106, SH-101 or with digital synthesizers such as the legendary Roland D-50. The numerous sound modules of the XV series were standard equipment in every studio and keyboard setup in the 80s.
Techno, techno, techno - synthesizer cult from Roland
Roland instruments had the greatest influence on the techno music of the 1990s. Originally designed for completely different purposes, techno and house musicians rediscovered synthesizers and drum machines such as the TB-303, MC-202 and TR-606/808/909 and triggered a veritable gold rush with their new sound. Instruments that Roland developed in the early 1980s are now among the absolute cult objects among vintage synthesizers and sell for high prices. Roland brought these popular instruments to life with the Boutique series: As miniature synthesizers, the Boutique devices bring back the sounds of the Jupiter-8, Juno-106, TR-909 and TB-303 in digital form.
Musical instruments and equipment from Roland
Roland stands for excellent sounding instruments. Whether synthesizer, digital piano, e-drum or guitar effects - making music with Roland instruments is a pleasure. The know-how from the development of the classics of the Jupiter series flowed into the Jupiter-80. The GAIA SH-01 offers an intuitive user interface with a wide range of sound options. The Roland V-Combo VR-700 satisfies the need for keyboard sounds suitable for the stage and in the piano area, Roland knows how to surprise with innovations such as the multimedia piano RK-300. Drummers and percussionists especially appreciate the V-Drum series, and guitarists get a variety of new sounds through the large selection of effect pedals and loopers like the RC-30. Products such as the Roland Jazz-Chorus JC-120 are also mentioned - then as now, a popular guitar amplifier with an integrated high-quality chorus for clean sounds.
