SCHLAGWERK SOUND EXPERIENCE MEANS EXPERIENCING PERFECT SOUND.
Perfect sound is more than just a noise. Perfect sound means perfect balance: When a Schlagwerk instrument is played, each element vibrates precisely in its intended properties and in harmony with the other components. The sound travels through the air, through your own body, is reflected by the environment and hits the processing nerve receptors. If the sound is perfect, the cerebellum rewards you with an extra portion of dopamine and endorphin, in short: with happy hormones that trigger a feeling of joy. And feeling this feeling means experiencing the Schlagwerk Sound Experience.
The core of the percussion includes the timpani, the bass drum, the snare drum, the cymbals and the triangle. The spectrum of the percussion mechanism has continued to expand to this day. Instruments such as glockenspiel and other mallets (xylophone, vibraphone, marimba), tubular bells, celesta, tam-tam, gong and a still growing number of effect instruments (ratchet, horn, flexaton, thunder plate, piston whistle, guiro, rainwood, castanets, wind machine, etc. ) can now be part of a percussionist's stock of instruments.
In contemporary music compositions, unusual sound generators such as vacuum cleaners, typewriters or sirens are usually entrusted to the percussion register, although they have nothing to do with "beat" in the narrower sense.
