Product information "Tascam TM-200SG Shotgun Condenser Microphone for Video Shooting"

The Videographer’s Choice for Recording Audio in the Field

The TM-200SG is a shotgun condenser microphone with a highly directional polar pattern ideal for video shooting or reporting. It can be mounted on any camera with a hotshoe and will help to improve the sound of any video recording created with a DSLR or other camera. The supercardioid pattern captures sound in the direction the mic is pointing while rejecting ambient noise and reverberation. It picks up your subject’s voice in front of your camera while reducing noise from traffic, surf, echo, and other distractions.

Lightweight and Small Form Factor for Maximum Audio Quality With Minimal Visual Intrusion

Tascam TM-200SG attached to a video camera which is mounted on a DR-701D field recorderThe TM-200SG was designed to be heard, not seen. The perfect balance of clear audio replication and small housing mean this microphone will be the least of your worries while shooting in the field.

Built-in Low-cut Filter for Easy Reduction of Environmental Noise

Tascam TM-200SG - Switchable low-cut filterWind and environmental hum can reduce the quality of the audio and create headaches in post-production. By utilizing the natural-sounding low-cut filter, you’re saving time downstream without cutting into vital frequencies you have captured.

Manufacturer "Tascam"
TASCAM is the professional audio division of Japan's TEAC Corporation. The manufacturer became famous at the end of the 1970s with the introduction of the music cassette-based Portastudio, with which musicians made multi-track recordings for the first time without investing a fortune in the studio equipment of the time. Home recording was now affordable for every recording musician. Digital recorders, which TASCAM offers in several variations, have long since taken the place of the first Portastudio. Today, TASCAM manufactures versatile digital recording equipment for a wide variety of applications - from podcasters to professional recording studios.
In 1971, TASCAM emerged from the development department previously known as TASC (TEAC Audio Systems Corp.), founded by Mr. K. Tani and Dr. abe Shortly thereafter, they launched the first affordable, high-volume multitrack recorders with simul-sync. Since 1974, the American TASCAM department has had its headquarters in Montebello, California. TASCAM Europe is located in Wiesbaden.
Recording equipment from TASCAM
TASCAM stands for affordable audio products that can be used professionally without restrictions.
Mixing consoles and multi-track recorders: The many years of know-how in the construction of high-quality mixing consoles are reflected in the current models from Digital Portastudios. With the DP-24SD and DP-32SD, there are two high-quality models to choose from.
Loudspeakers & monitoring: In addition to the MH-8 eight-way headphone amplifier, the VL-S5 active monitors ensure a good monitoring situation.
Audio recorders and audio players from TASCAM: The DR series handheld recorders are very popular with musicians and sound engineers. The solid-state recorder of the SR series makes practical recording technology available on memory cards in 19" format. With the HS series, TASCAM takes the professional user group into account and the popular CD recorders are still in the range.
Audio interfaces: The interfaces of the US series support up to 20 inputs (US-20x20) and thus have a special status in the field of USB interfaces available on the market.
Microphones: With the brand new studio microphones of the TM series, Tascam offers high-quality products at attractive prices in this area.
Musician's tools: Tuners and trainers/recorders for a wide variety of instruments and vocals round off the product range and offer useful "little helpers" for musicians' needs.
