The WL185 is a professional lavalier microphone for presentation and other speech applications. The cardioid characteristic suppresses background noise and reduces feedback. This makes the WL185 predestined for loud environments or when used with stage monitors.

The cardioid polar pattern requires the microphone to be well aligned to get the best sound. To make this easier, the integrated tie clip can be rotated in 90 degree increments.

Changing the cardioid characteristics

The polar pattern can be changed to supercardioid (R184B) or omnidirectional (R183B) by replacing the capsule.

What is the difference to the MX185

The WL185 is the same microphone as the MX185. The difference is the scope of delivery. The MX185 comes with a preamplifier for wired use. The WL185 can only be used wirelessly.
