Play Guitar bietet eine große Vielfalt an Kompositionen und Arrangements, welche die stilistische Bandbreite des Gitarrenspiels schon Anfängern zugänglich machen soll. Zahlreiche Abbildungen in neuen Perspektiven verdeutlichen die technischen Abläufe auf leicht verständliche Weise. Workshops befassen sich mit Blues und Liedbegleitung.Teil 1 beginnt mit einstimmigem Spiel. Sobald die Finger der linken Hand kraftsparendes Greifen der Töne erlernt und sich erste Stabilität und Sicherheit der anschlagenden Finger rechts eingestellt haben, kann aus technischer Sicht ohne weiteres mit den für die Gitarre so typischen Zerlegungen begonnen werden.
