The guitars of the Ibanez AZ Series represent a contemporary reinterpretation of classic ST-style guitars, perfectly tailored to the demands of the 21st century. The AZ2402-SLF Limited Edition by Ibanez comes equipped with a variety of modern enhancements: The Ibanez T1802 Tremolo by Gotoh is an updated version of the tried-and-true vintage ST tremolo, featuring steel saddles, a play-free tremolo arm, and a low-friction 2-bolt mounting. The neck is crafted from Roasted Maple, a thermally treated wood that offers the stability and tone of tonewood aged for years. The alder body is finished in Pearl White Flat, and the deep cutaways allow effortless access to the high frets. The Gotoh locking tuners are height-adjustable and can be easily staggered. In terms of pickups, Ibanez collaborated with Seymour Duncan to develop the new Hyperion pickups, which, combined with the coil tap switch, offer a variety of circuit and tonal options.
The Ibanez AZ Series pays homage to traditional guitar designs, equipped with high-quality materials and technologies. In comparison to other Ibanez series, the necks of the AZ Series have a more robust profile, yet they still provide a comfortable playing experience and excellent handling thanks to the Roasted Maple neck. The hardware and electronics leave nothing to be desired: Gotoh tremolo and locking tuners, along with new pickups developed in collaboration with the renowned pickup expert Seymour Duncan.
