Brushes, also known as drum or jazz brushes, is a special type of drumstick which generates a rhythmic, rustling sound (sustain). The wires have different thicknesses and can be made of metal and plastic. In some models, the metal rod can be pulled into the inside of the shaft, so the striking surface and the hardness acting on it can be changed. Jazz brushes are also used with many other percussion instruments.
