Since the beginning of rock music, these legendary cymbals have significantly shaped the sound of drummers for generations. Today's 2002 series is based on the classic originals from back then and has been expanded to include some modern sounds in favor of modern musical developments.

The material used, CuSn8 bronze, has given this series the nickname “2002 bronze”. The sound is brilliant, clear, warm, powerful, musical and very precise with powerful projection.

The cymbals are suitable for medium to very loud playing and can therefore be used in a wide variety of music styles such as classic rock, blues, punk, hard rock, metal, country, ska, rockabilly, funk, R&B, soul, gospel and pop.

Paiste is one of the leading manufacturers of cymbals. The philosophy of the Paiste family company, founded in 1945, aims to continuously develop new sounds that meet the creative demands and expectations of drummers and percussionists. Paiste works closely with professional drummers such as Stewart Copeland (The Police) and Joey Jordison (Slipknot). The proverbial Swiss precision is reflected in every Paiste cymbal, gong or percussion instrument that Paiste manufactures in Switzerland and Germany.

Worth knowing about Paiste

The Paiste company was founded in 1945 by Michail M. Paiste in Germany. His father Michail Toomas Paiste has been successfully manufacturing cymbals and gongs since the 1920s and 1930s, but historical events force him to give up the business. In 1957 he founded a manufactory in Switzerland, where Paiste's headquarters are still located today. At this time, Michail's sons, Robert and Toomas Paiste, join the company, who later make the company headquarters in Nottwil in the canton of Lucerne the center of Paiste's international business. In 1981, Paiste America was founded as an overseas branch, followed in 1995 by others in Estonia and Spain.

Paiste currently offers 14 different cymbal series for drummers. There are also various concert and marching cymbals, as well as percussion instruments. Some of the most popular series are the Paiste Alpha 2002, PST5 and Rude.
