Im ersten Band werden die Notenwerte bis zu Achteln in einem moderaten Tonumfang vorgestellt. Dazu kommen einige Vor- und Versetzungszeichen und notwendige Hilfsgriffe. Besonders interessant für die jungen Spieler ist eine Extra-Seite, auf der die Geschichte des eigenen Instruments bebildert dargestellt ist.
