Bb clarinet V12 reeds are manufactured from cane tubes with the same diameter as cane used for alto saxophone reeds.As a result, they have a thicker heel and are cut on a longer palette with a slightly thicker tip than the Traditional. The longer palette means that more of the reed is vibrating, resulting in a deeper, richer sound. The thicker tip gives body to the attack and also increases the longevity of the reed.

It took a long time for the Japanese manufacturer BOSS to finally come up with something for bassists in its Katana family. After all, the successful series has been around since 2016, and it was worth the wait. Users can store and recall their favourite sound setups in six Tone Setting locations, including preamp type, EQ, blend and effects.With the BOSS Tone Studio Editor for Mac or Windows, users can customise preamp, EQ and blend settings, choose from up to 60 effects and organise sounds for different gigs.
