A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) is an original wood reforming technology developed by Yamaha. Through precise controll of temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, the molecular properties of the wood can be manipulated into a more acoustically ideal condition, similar to the molecular characteristics of woods in instruments that have been played for years.New Designed Bracing PatternA modified non-scalloped bracing design retains the L series’ characteristic bright tone while enhancing low-end tone. High Comfortable Traditional Neck ProfileA reevaluation of string spacing, string height, fingerboard binding, and neck taper led to a new neck shape that better fits today’s raditional players. The new design offers stable grip and smooth playability over the full length of the neck.New 5-ply neck designs are constructed of rosewood and mahogany plies. The design integrates the neck, head, and body into a single unit creating a powerful, rich sound. This approach also creates a strong, stable neck that resists twisting and warping.Body: Original Jumbo Type Top: Solid Engelmann Spruce A.R.E. The twelve-string guitars are very special pieces among the western guitars. As a rule, there are 12-string guitars only as western guitars - they are rarely found as concert guitars. That means: steel sides, arched fingerboard, reinforced top and bottom beams and usually a neck tension bar. Incidentally, the neck of a 12-string guitar is only a little wider than that of a 6-string model. A twelve-string guitar is also called a “six-course guitar” in musical terminology (each of the six sides forms a “choir” sound due to the additional string). With the 12-string guitar you play the same way as with the 6-string - only you always press 2 strings at the same time. In addition to each of the 6 strings, a further (thinner string) is stretched on the 12-string guitar, which is played at the same time. The sound is brighter, silvery and significantly fuller than with the six-string guitars.
